Felony Larceny Charges Reduced to Misdemeanor Larceny
A Browning & Long, PLLC Client was charged with Felony Larceny after allegedly stealing two cameras, two lenses and miscellaneous camera equipment valuing over $7,000.00. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department initially became interested in our client when he pawned the cameras and related equipment at a local Charlotte pawn shop. The police then interviewed our client and he admitted to stealing the cameras and related equipment.
Once Mr. Long was hired he immediately began negotiating with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office and was able to obtain a great plea deal. Specifically, Mr. Long was able to negotiate a deal where our client would plead to misdemeanor larceny with no jail time and no supervised probation. This was a great outcome for our client given the high value of the stolen items and the admission. Additionally, our client does not have to deal with the consequences of a felony conviction.
